Led the instructional design and delivery efforts for a multi-million dollar international distance learning company using satellite, videoconferencing, networked PCs, and Internet tools.

Chief architect behind the Caliber Learning Model which included managing instructional developers, multimedia developers, web designers, video and live television producers to create an integrated, multi-platform design approach to distance learning.

Educated and supported the transition of university professors, instructors, and corporate trainers to delivery in a distributed learning environment. Provide expertise and counsel on distance learning design principles, courseware conversion and presentation skills for distance learning.

Validated the impact of learning and the efficacy of Caliber's tools through student and instructor feedback, outcome results and related course data.

Ensured efficient use of the Association's computing resources through comprehensive requirements analysis, technical training, education programs, help desk/technical support, Internet/Intranet development and support, and production services.

Managed an operating budget in excess of $1.5mil and a team of 40 analysts, trainers, technical support and development professionals.

Directed the development and expansion of AARP's award-winning Internet and Intranet sites, including on-line transactions processing and internal information services.

Appointed to head Association-wide task force in the exploration of distance learning technologies. Led a needs analysis of the organization, technologies research, staff education efforts, and pilot projects to assess the utility of various communications technologies (satellite, desktop video conferencing, LAN/WAN communications, interactive television, etc.). Efforts resulted in the Board approval to allocate over $4.3 mil in LAN infrastructure, over $1 mil to install downlinks in each field office, implementation of AARP's Internet presence, and the exploitation of commercial on-line services.

Conducted extensive survey analysis of staff skills competencies and job requirements which served as the basis for a 3-year training agenda for over 300 field staff.

Implemented the Adjunct Instructor Program which utilized staff from outside the department to support over 25% of the instructional curriculum at little/no cost to the department.

Re-engineered the manual processes of the Help Desk by establishing an automatic call distribution system and implementing an on-line tracking tool, resulting in an over 300% increase in call capture rate and 90% reduction in turn-around time.

Implemented a Skills Assessment program using CBT to test employees on their software competencies as part of the hiring practice.
