Site Support
The
temporary webmaster program serves existing sites that have been managed
by a part-time or single full-time individual, where that person is
no longer supporting the site and the organization needs temporary personnel
until a replacement can be secured.
For established
websites, the work tends to be mostly content maintenance, link checking,
fielding incoming inquiries, and making suggestions for enhancement.
We help you ensure that your site stays fresh and current while you're
busy recruiting. Some organizations ask us to help them come up with
original content or perform web research or create graphics/images.
That’s all possible. We can also help you with your recruitment
process by crafting the job description, posting it, fielding incoming
responses and giving our counsel on the recruits.
Marketing support
includes analyzing your site traffic and making recommendations for
linking, intrasite marketing tactics, and modifications to your site
to give your content the best visibility. We provide you with weekly
reports of our activities and also run monthly statistics on your site
and interpret those results.
New
Site Support
Newly
created sites need some special attention. Our support would include
helping the organization populate the site with content, perhaps converting
standard documents to HTML or revising current content to web standards.
For new sites we may need to help you with bug identification and reporting,
as well as documenting processes and helping you develop your own content
management practices. Throughout our engagement we will be helping you
define the type of skills and level of support you will need when you
take over the site for yourself.
From a marketing
standpoint, we help you get your site established on the Internet landscape
by ensuring that your site is set up with proper metatags, listed in
appropriate directories and linked to sites that will drive traffic
to you. We provide you with weekly reports of our activities and also
run monthly statistics on your site and interpret those results.
Level
of Support
The Ellipsis Partners Temporary Webmaster service
is completely scalable. We work from 4 hours per week working virtually,
to full-time on-site. Or, we can devise an arrangment that suits your
needs, offering a combination of on-site and off-site support. Engagements
run from three months to multi-year.
Cost
We determine the cost based on the level of technical or editorial skill
required, length of the engagement and scope of the work. We can establish
a flat-fee retainer or work hourly so that you can budget for exactly
the level of support you need.
